Should we have called a park ranger? for saxophone and three toy pianos (2016)

Should we have called a park ranger? is the third part of An Autumn Story (awaiting response), a collaborative project with four other composers: Benjamin Levy, Stephen Lilly, Stacey Mastrian, and Kristian Twombly. This suite of five interrelated vignettes were composed as part of a project meant to increase repertoire for the oft-neglected ensemble consisting of a saxophonist and three toy pianists. Each piece references two lines from “A Winter’s Tale” by Shakespeare.

The video below (forthcoming) features the entire suite. It is performed by Shannon Sadler, Terry Vermillion, and Marion Judish, toy pianos; and Kristian Twombly, alto saxophone.
